By popular demand, the Century Route returns!
But you will have to make it through the "Threshold of Payne"
at the Cushing Cutoff before 10:30 a.m. to continue.

The Tour of Payne is an organized bicycle ride offering
26, 36, 62, and 100 mile routes. It is sponsored by Stillwater's
Red Dirt Pedalers Bicycle Club. There will not be a mountian bike route
this year. MTB has been moved to the April 6, 2003 Lake McMurtry Challenge.
All routes are well marked and
will be supported until 2:30pm by SAG vehicles.
Fully stocked rest stops will be provided at appropriate intervals until 2:30pm.
Rest Stops will be located in or near Perkins, Ripley, Cushing, Mehan, and
Yale.
Showers and jacuzzi will
be available after the ride at the Best Western Pool area. Participants have
free use of the pool and pool area on the day of the ride. Please bring your
own soap and towel.
The entry fee is $15.00 for those that pre-register by June 15, 2003 and $20 afterwards.

Ride Headquarters
Headquarters is at the Best Western Motel, Perkins Road and McElroy Avenue in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Call (405) 377-7010 to reserve your room by June 15, 2003 for the special room rate of ($58 in 2002) per night for 1-4 people. Tell them you are with the Tour of Payne bicycle ride. Packet pick-up and information is available at the motel the evening before the tour from 6 to 10 pm. The restaurant opens at 6 am for breakfast the morning of the ride.
Holiday Celibration
Stay in Stillwater and enjoy a great fireworks display at Boomer Lake later this evening. (This link is to a cool website we found, enjoy it for a while, and then come back)

The Routes
All routes begin at 7:30am at Perkins Road and McElroy Avenue in Stillwater, OK and go south on US Highway 177 to Perkins. All Routes return to the Best Western Motel by way of Fairgrounds Road and East McElroy Avenue.

The Rest Stops
Rest stops are stocked with Water, ice, Powerade, soft drinks, cookies, chips,
and other goodies.
1. Perkins. AMPRIDE at SH-33 and US-177
2. Ripley. Downtown on Highway 108, building
on the left.
3. Cushing. Memorial Park, east of the
Swimming Pool.
4. Yale. Jim Thorpe Park on the east side
of town on SH-51.
5. Mehan. Actually Fairgrounds Road and
68th Avenue.
6. Stillwater. Best Western Motel. This
one has an indoor swimming pool!
Metric Centurians(100km/62 miles) will visit Ripley twice, believe it or not!.
Centurians will visit both Cushing and Ripley twice.
